Let’s create a heart candle together!

Each of you received a Brenda Novak book box. Inside the box, you will find all the supplies you need to create 2 beautiful heart-shaped candles.

What's in the kit?

  • Natural soy wax
  • Silicone heart-shaped mold
  • Cranberry-Prosecco fragrance oil
  • Cotton, lead-free wick (2 pcs)
  • Insertion tool
  • Centering tool

Use instruction bellow or watch the video at the bottom of the page

  • Melt the wax

Microwave your bag for 2 minutes on high. Let it stand for 1-2 minutes. If any white solid wax is left in the bag, microwave for an additional 30 seconds.

***Be aware that both the wax inside the bag and the bag itself will be hot. Please use extra caution when working with hot liquid wax! If, after 2.5 minutes, the wax is still solid, continue microwaving in 30-second intervals. Open the door after each interval and check the wax. It’s important not to overheat the wax.
  • Scented or Unscented?

At this step, you can decide whether you want your candle smells with notes of Citrus, Cranberry,Champagne,Musk and Praline or unscented.
    ___
Skip this step if you prefer unscented candles. If you choose a scented candle, add the full bottle of fragrance oil included in the kit. Add fragrance oil to the wax and stir it with a spoon for 1-2 minutes.
    ___
You can also adjust the amount by adding less fragrance oil (e.g., half the bottle or two-thirds) if you want to experiment with the intensity. Feel free to add more fragrance oil when making your second candle.
  • Mold Setup

    1. Unbag the mold and take the tool to insert the wick.
    2. Lay the threaded cotton wick close to the mold.
    3. Find the center of the mold and pinch the tool through it. Grab the wick and use the tool as a hook to pull it through the mold.
    4. Leave about 1 inch of the wick beneath the mold and lay the remaining part of the wick on the side.
  • Fill the mold

    Fun part!

Carefully pour the wax from the bag into the mold until it is fully filled.
  • Center the wick

Take the wooden centering tool and insert the wick carefully into the tool. Try to center the wick, as this will be important when you light the candle.
  • Time to demold candle

Please wait for 3-4 hours, allowing the candle to solidify. Remove the centering tool, then gently unattach the silicone mold and carefully take out the solidified candle.

Candle care and burn instruction

The decorative candles are designed to be decorative, however, if you choose to light them up please see the directions below.

  • Before lighting your candle, place it on a flat tray or a dish to collect any dripping wax. Our beautiful
  • When not in use, place your candle away from direct sunlight and nearby heat sources.
  • Before you relight your candle, we recommend trimming the wick to 1/4'' to maintain a consistent smoke-free flame.
  • Stop using a candle when only 1/4'' of wax remains.

FAQ

I don't have microwave, how can I melt wax

No microwave? No problem!

Double Boiler Method

This is one of the most common ways to melt wax:

What you'll need:

  • A heatproof bowl (such as a metal bowl or saucepan)
  • A bag of wax

How to do it:

  1. Fill the heatproof bowl with water and place the bag of wax inside.
  2. Turn the stove to medium heat—do not bring the water to a boil.
  3. Once the water starts to steam (or double in size from heat), lower the temperature and wait.
  4. You may need to adjust the wax bag to ensure it’s straight and fully submerged.
  5. As the wax begins to melt, you’ll notice yellow spots of melted wax forming inside the bag.
  6. Continue warming the wax until it is fully melted. This should take about 10-15 minutes.

How many candles can I make?

The wax in the bag you received with the subscription would be enough for 2 heart-shaped candles

Can I fill my jar with this wax instead of using a silicone mold?

Unfortunately, we do not recommend doing so. Each vessel requires a different type and size of wick, as all jars have different dimensions. This type of wax is only used for wax melts or pillar candles.

What kind of wax will we use?

We use Pillar Soy Wax, made in the USA, which is made with 100% soybean oil and uses soy-based additives to enhance performance.

What Fragrance oils we use?

We use high-quality fragrance oils that are free from carcinogens, toxins, and other hazardous chemicals commonly found in fragrances
